County Executive Kevin Kamenetz recently recognized Glyndon as one of the County’s “BEST” neighborhoods. The recogniztion followed Baltimore Magazine naming Glyndon as one of the Best Places to Live. In the magazine’s April edition, Glyndon was honored for Top Neighborhood and Best-Kept Secret.
County Executive Kamenetz honored the top communities on Tuesday May 28, 1 p.m. in Towson at the Historic Court House. GCA president Rose Mooney attended.
GCA and HGI are sponsoring Dinner in the Park. Please join us on Sunday June 9th from 4 – 8 pm in Glyndon Station Park to meet your neighbors. Enjoy a spring evening dinner and get to know whats going on in Glyndon If you know of a new family in Glyndon please email us at GCA_pres@yahoo.com with their name and address. You bring a picnic lunch and we will provide refreshments and desert. Bring checkers or your chess set and challenge some of your neighbors. Come meet Edgar Allan Poe in a one-man show at the Historic Emory Grove Hotel on Wednesday, May 15, 7:30 – 9 p.m. Sponsored by Historic Glyndon, Inc., entertainer Scott Craig Jones of Shanandoah, Va., becomes Poe and humorously reminices about his life and death while performing various Poe masterworks.
The program is free to HGI members and their children. Donations for non-members are $10 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under. Includes light refreshments.

Spring is in full bloom, which means it’s time to prepare our park, Glyndon Station Park, for the summer season. Please join the GCA Park Committee and your neighbors for a “weed and feed” next Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m. at the park on Railroad Avenue.
Thanks in advance to Leo Ottey, who has agreed to prepare his special egg-and-biscuit sandwiches and other breakfast goodies for us. Some will be pleased to hear that there may also be scrapple.
This will be a heavy park cleanup. If you have pruners, loppers and and other garden tools, please bring them. the committee will provide lawn and leaf bags.
