The Glyndon Community Association elected new officers and board members at February 9, 2011, general meetings. The new board follows:

The Baltimore County Board of License Commissioners approved a liquor license for a proposed wine shop at 15 Railroad Avenue on Monday, March 14, 2011.
The owners of the wine shop had the support of the Glyndon Community Association (GCA). The owners attended the February 9 general meeting of the (GCA) and answered members’ questions. The owners agreed to restrictions on the shop name, its hours and sign-age that the landlord included in the lease.

Construction will resume no later than March 28, and will likely begin prior to the 28th. Work will begin on Central Avenue and the side streets between Central and Railroad. Crews will start at the northern end of Central, at Butler, working their way south to the Albright/Central area. Work hours will be from 8 AM – 4 PM. For now, we
can assume that work in this section will take 2-3 months.
I will be contacting the Franklin District, requesting that they resume patrols. I expect this section to be the most difficult in terms of traffic. Please watch for cars using side streets as high speed cut throughs. There will be delays for school buses, as well as school-bound and work bound traffic. Please talk to your children – they will need to be far more careful on the streets than they are used to being.
As of this writing, the County has no plan to prohibit on-street parking in work areas. However, you might want to consider finding another location for parking, to protect your vehicles.
No road re-paving will occur until all construction work is complete. I am projecting that construction will not be complete until the fall of 2011. There will be no curb-to-curb re-paving. Sections disturbed for construction will be
re-dug and resurfaced. At the same time, any curbs or sidewalks that have been disturbed for construction, will be repaired.
However…there is always a but…The State has mandated that Butler Road be repaved ASAP, so that they can keep their speeding traffic moving. The repaving date for Butler is currently in negotiation, however, it is expected to start in late April or early May.
Where construction has already occurred, the patches have shown some winter wear. Patches will not be repaired unless a significant danger is evident.
One fire hydrant on Albright at Railroad, and one at Chatsworth and Railroad are leaking. The County is aware of this. The issue will not be addressed until the crews return, and then will have to be coordinated with the overall project. If anyone is aware of other leaking hydrants, please let me know.
